Re: 59 Plymouth Jack

Those are what the 2 jacks look like that I have. Guess I will use the hollow one. Neither one of my 59 Plymouths has a jack instruction decal, and as far as I can tell, the underside of the trunk lid and area outside of the seal have never been messed with. At least on one of my cars.

Battery Hold Down

I have looked at different pictures on the Showcase, and was wanting to know what the correct battery hold down looks like as mine is missing. Does anyone make the original style hold downs ? I tried to go to Gary Goers website, but nothing would actually come up on the catalog to shop online, just ...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop

I was just wanting to get some other input from people on here as far as my 59 Sport Fury hardtop. The car does look nice, but reality of how things were repaired bodywise, the floors, trunk, rockers, fenders, quarters, and maybe the wheel wells would have to be redone to make it right because of th...

Re: Intake casting # 1828103

Thanks for the information. It is nice to know it was a 1958 intake like I was told. What is the 4 bbl intake casting number for a 1959 Plymouth 318 ? How many years past 59 did they use the same casting number ? My car is in getting the paint touched up, and I can't just go into the garage and look...

Re: Intake casting # 1828103

Thanks for the information. I took it over to my car, and like you said it looks the same with the mounting. The intakes are different between the early and later 318 engines right ?

Re: Intake casting # 1828103

My 59 Plymouths are not here at home for me to look at, to even see if the design is similar.

Re: Intake casting # 1828103

It seems that this is obviously not correct for a 59 318, but will it work ? Here a a few pictures. code is 1 4 - 9

Transmission Change

I am going to change my powerflite over to a torqueflite in my 59 Plymouth. I am guessing that the driveshaft is a different length, and was also wondering about the U joint arrangement if that was different ? The other question would be the cable from the push button selector. I have the transmissi...

Intake casting # 1828103

I am trying to verify the application for a 4 bbl intake, casting number 1828103 with a Carter AFB. I am thinking this was for a 318, but am not totally sure. What is this for, and what years will it fit ? I purchased it off Ebay a couple of years ago, and it was listed as coming off of a 1958 318, ...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop

I just looked under my 59 convertible, and found that actually, there is quite a bit of gray paint underneath on the bottom of the quarters, trunk and floor pans. It also looks like some very light white overspray as well. The frame does have some black paint on it, some peeling off and the rear lea...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop

So if I were to paint it a gray similar to what the underside of the trunk lid, that would be right. I don't have to be exact, but I do make attempts to have it as correct as possible. I will take another look under my car. This car was from Hollywood, CA originally, and there is no undercoating wha...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop

John, I will take some more pictures of my convertible, but there are a few on this website. The car I have is on the showcase under Russell Housen, as I puchased it from him about 2 years ago. It has lower miles and runs and drives excellent. I need to get the hood bumpers, and the trunk and door w...

Re: 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury hardtop

Yes as the other response indicates, it is a 3 spd torqueflite automatic with power steering. Low NADA guide is 11,635, as this car is optioned. This car does need work, so I was wanting to get $10,000 for the car. The car has a lot of good things going for it. The transmission shifts and works fine...
