Willdo Roger,

I just hope I'll not be grounded for the rest of the season.

Starter - Nose interchange

Hello, does anybody know if it’s possible to take the nose of a 361BB-starter and bolt it on the core of a 318SB-starter? My 318SB-starter has the # MDU-7001 and the 361BB-starter has the # MDT-6001 (if I’m not mistaken). I’d like to know this because I’m changing my 318 against a 361! Thank you in ...

What a smart girl! No doubt about it, but unlike my 7 year old son she is more generous. Last week he called the Plymouth "classic" and as I agreed he completed his sentence "just like you dad". I'm 45 now, what will he call me when I'm 67? I guess I better don't ask. :?

Your are getting older too Roger, or did you think you are spared? :)
But don't worry we have to flip the priorities - more driving, less working!

Agree?

- pull the 318

- remove bell housing

- strip the 361 again - less weight - easier work

Here is another little detail that I discovered yesterday. The water outlet of the "318 radiator" meets the 361 oil filter.

First picture shows a 350 which I saw in Carlisle this year!

Second Picture shows my 361 with the radiator of my 318.

This is as far as it get's for now. Carburettor overhaul and reassembling as well as the Pertronix-convertion of the Distributor and some other features are part of this project but I’ll show that later in another topic. For now it’s time to get the engine in the car.

The carburettors are not yet assembled, oil cabs and PS-pump are still without the propper paint, but the engine is ready to be installed. My only concern is that the motor mounts will not fit.

Well, all work comes to an end. I thought I assembel the engine for a nice final picture, but there are still too many parts missing or not ready yet.

Wellcome to the "Tired 318 Club". I have / had the same problem with my 318, but fortunately there are a couple of ways for you to go. One for example is overhauling your 318. Gary Pavlovich is the man to ask. With very few modifications and a better cam you can get a very good performance...
