Rear end ratios
Is there an external marking anywhere on the outside of the rearend on a 59 Plymouth that indicates what gear ratio is installed in it ?. I realize if someone changed something in the past, you wouldn't know. If it was a sure grip, you could spin the wheels and count the revolutions of the yoke to g...

Re: Various how to's and information request
Thanks again for the information. I never would have known about the clips on the cowling. I definitely don't want to damage or scratch anything. Something else I was thinking about was which fender mirrors are correct for the 59 Plymouth. I know there are different ones or at least mirror parts wit...

Re: Various how to's and information request
That doesn't sound too bad as far as the wiring involved with the washer pump. I will have to check it out. That brings me to another related question of the wipers. That cowling cover will have to come off to get to the washer nozzles, but at my first look, I don't see what holds that on. I'm sure ...

Re: Various how to's and information request
Thank you for all the replies on my questions. I think I may have added to the confusion with my question about the cowl and door tag numbers. The 1 and 2 I was talking about were the beginning numbers of the last six digits which is just the production number. Right ? The cowl tag and the door jamb...

Various how to's and information request
Hello, I have a few questions people on here can probably help me with. I have 2 59 Plymouths, a hardtop and a convertible. I really haven't had them that long, and there are lots of things I am not familiar with. 1. My hardtop has a RCA record player just like the one shown in I believe Tom Gerrard...

Re: Plymouth Historical and engine and trans info
Thanks for taking the time Roger to take those pictures for me. I wouldn't be very motivated to get out in the garage either in this cold. Per your recommendation, I also sent an email to John the big M to see if he has a 5 button box with buttons and faceplate for a 59 Plymouth.
Thank You

5 button auto, manual trans, 361 Golden Commando
Hello, 1.) I am looking for a 5 button box with buttons for 59 Plymouth with a torqueflite. 2.) I am also looking for a manual transmission set up for either 361 or 318. Basically everything that it would take to change a car over from an automatic. 3.) Also, if I could find a complete 361 Golden Co...

Re: Plymouth Historical and engine and trans info
Thank you for the response Roger. Just searching Chrysler Historical Society I found a website that gave the address to send the $50.00 to for the IBM cards. Some gentleman has his card on there and it was decoded. Maybe if I get the card I can find someone that has that information to decode it for...

Plymouth Historical and engine and trans info
Hello, 1.) I was reading on some other posts about the Chrysler Historical Society. I take it that it is possible to get an IBM punch card of the original build data of Chrysler cars ? What is the range of years that are possible to get this information ?. I didn't see a phone number, but saw an add...

Thanks for all the replies. I've got the 318 right now with the 2 x 4bbl and the gold oval air cleaners. It is very tired though and has issues, thats why I am considering trying to find a vintage swap. I am going to have to rebuild one or the other anyway. Doesn't have to be exact year 361 or 383, ...

Production numbers and motor mounts
I have seen the different production totals for Sport Fury, and Fury, but not Belvedere or Savoy. My main question is I have never seen a breakdown of how many models of each type came with the 361 Commando engine ?. From what I read you could get that engine in everything except for one of the Savo...

59 Plymouth Engine Swap
I have a 59 Plymouth Sport Fury with its original 318 and torqueflite. I want to preferably put in a period correct 361, or possibly a 383 four barrel with a torqueflite. I don't rule out a stick if I could find the parts. I want to keep the car fairly stock appearing, and use what is there. If I ca...
