Since there was a message here, I will respond. I have the Sport Fury convertible that Russ Housen had.

Hello Tim,
Thanks for chiming in! I know that information is somewhere in its archives..thanks for refreshing my memory :D ! Tim's SF can be seen en one of those oval "cameo" pictures that flit by,,,probably also in the Showcase under Russ Housen, but something won't allow me to open that up right now.

Should we add the Fairmount, Georgia POS rusted hulk black SF cvt, recently on Craigslist?

Ahhh those 59 Belvedere Converts are a rare and tight knit group. (Though I would love a SF Convert myself! But keep that a secret)

Roger told me once that there were 5990 SF Converts made in 1959 and slightly less production total of 5063 Belvedere Convertible were made the same year. Roger correct me if you will.

By the looks of it, the SF convert, being a higher trim level, survived much better in numbers then Belvedere converts did. People just took better care of the higher styled SF's you can say...

Quoting from The Standard Catalog of Chrysler, by Krause Publications
Production of SF cvt=5,990
Production of Belv cvt=5,063
Factory price for basic SF cvt=3125.
Facory price for basic Belv ct=2814.
The difference is a mere $311, less than the price of factory a/c ($445.60)
The various factors affecting the life of our cars includes
Driving on salted roads
Maintenance, including garaging
Amount of use
One would imagine Sf buyers were "making a statement", announcing their wealth.
Belv buyers may also have been showing off, but perhaps on a budget?
Both groups were out to have fun, and all had excellent taste in cars. :D

Seems to me the rarer Belvedere Convertible (only 4) would be the more desirable and worth more, right Tom.

I count 7 Belvedere convertibles in Matthew's list..... and I don't know how many of the Sport Fury's were converted from Belvedere to Sport Fury by Mopar Mel  I know our convertible is build out of a Belvedere convertible and a Sport Fury hardtop, nothing wrong with getting the best of both worlds 8)

I was reading over the list, and saw that Harvey Weaver was not on it. He has a red 59 Sport Fury convertible, that I believe was originally black.

Ron - I looked away as I hit the 7 key and hit the 4 key instead. Sorry, Opps, make that 8 per Tom.
