well, the reason I ask is I have a varied collection of them. John Zastrow just acquired some from his West Coast Connection (whoever that might be). As far as I am concerned, these buckles are super-rare, yet I know they are out there, clinging to some rotting junkyard car, or worse, being thrown out by some customizer who has no use for them. I thought about getting Gary Goers interested in re-manufacturing them, as he does the "Letter" car scripts, etc. In fact, Gary told me to go ahead and send him one so that he could begin the replication process, but I never did.
I thought about putting these up on Ebay, but then I'd fel badly for the Listmembers who share comraderie and all that...
what happens with these "buckles and clasps" is not only do they oxidize, the tiny clips break off the back.I will try to post a picture to Dan, (sorry, dont know how to post the pics here).
installing them on your car would require some clever techniques..I suppose you could sew them right to the seats in, and glue them to the door panels...

This picture [of the buckle back] is intended to show the tiny "fingers", made of pot metal, which hold the clip to the buckle. The tiny fingers easily break off, and the buckle gets lost. Seems like one way to solve the problem would be to apply a big drop of epoxy to the "connection".
