WEEKEND UPDATE... John has just passed the dual quad carbs over to me for verification and rebuild. The intake manifold is being repaired on some bolt hole corrections.

Yes, who better to rebuild my two AFB carbs then Rick. I waited a long time to to have them rebuilt elsewhere but they extremely buried in work that won't be able to get to it soon.

Rick was nice enough to do the job for me. Rick did the original rebuild on my the Belvy 4bbl AFB.So I know it will be done right.

Rick mentioned that I need one of the bolt hole repaired on the 59 300E intake as it garfed up with one elongated bolt hole.

Then we can then install the dual quad intake on the 413 engine.. Still looking for two metal oval air cleaner...but have something during the mean while.

Also Face Book that I had the 59 out for a local Hagerty insurance open house car show. Hagerty is setting up a Western Regional office in Golden, Colo but they have a temp office 10 mins. near me, till the bigger office is permanent office is finished.

Here is a pic I took at that event today. Note that I have installed the re-chromed bumper wings on the convert. Styling now...

Dick, I will look for them. I know there are fiberglass re-pops being made but I am looking for the metal ones. I will search to see what your are looking at.

Thanks!

The metal repro's are really nice! Mine are also the repro's.

Original ones are still over $1000 while the metal repro's go for $600

ouch! I think I have a lead on a couple used ones that Rick Clapham told me about last year. They need to be blasted and all but a lot less expensive ($200-$300 for a pair) then $600 or $1000 for new metal re-pop ones.
