Hi Roger - Glad to hear you are having good weather for you in Seattle. It's dreadful here, in fact it's slowed down the car show scene quite a bit, went to one of the larger shows here yesterday and instead of 250 plus cars there was maybe 60 - 70 at most. Somewhat like Snow for some of you guys in the winter. We even left early becuse of the heat. My ex high school sweetheart lives in Seattle, she thru me over and married Ed Nixon, Richard Nixon's brother. They were going to Tulane in New Orleans at the time and I was going to LSU. We are good friends today and communicate quite often. She is not doing well these days because of Alzimer's. Yvonne and I would love to take a trip up the California, Oragon and Washington coast and visit the Seattle area one day. I could not do the restoration without the shop and lift. I'm laying in wait for Matthew so I can chain him to the lift.

This stuff looks flawless! I was especially impressed that you installed that rubber "seal" on the tail of the car. I don't think many folks even knew such a thing existed in the day.
Promise me you won't paint the Belvedere red, though. (I've seen enough red now!)

Put me down as knowing about the rubber seal, I have it on both cars.

Great job Dick, I'm sure the convertible will look as good.

Aw Pschaw guys, you'all make me blush. Thanks for the compliments, going back together makes all the hard work worth it. Dan - pulled the swithch and walla, lights, hi and lo beams work. Rear lights work except for backup and turn signals. Windshield wipers don't turn on either, I hope Matthew is good a auto electrics, he could sure help in those areas.

Roger - The factory color of the convertible was white so that's what I'm going to paint it. With a black cloth top, not the black vinyl, the dash and garnish moulding will be gloss black with black carpeting. The seats will be the only thing that say sportfury, when I got the green car there was a bolt of black and white sportfury type cloth in the trunk and since the cloth is so expensive and I already have it that's was I'm going to use, the seats will have white bolsters. The door panels will be a combination of the two.

OK - Some mo pitchuhs, With Matthews help, we got the trim on, the headliner in, the steering wheel up and down play out and the turn signals working. There is a picture of Matthew here and my camera hasn't been the same since. I did as Matthew suggested and rather than painting the black on the Medallions I went to a sign company and they cut out gloss black vinyl with adhesive on the back (same as used for lettering) to the exact dimensions for the medallions and the strips for the grill corners. Cost $25 bucks. One of the medallions had a pin broken off, I JB welded a flathead machine screw and it worked perfectly. Just snugged it up. The floor sound barrier/heat insulator with another layer of insulation and the carpet coupled with the new roof insulation ought to make for a quiet ride.

Dick,
Great pictures and outstanding craftmanship and painting. I wished I lived nearby I would be your supervisor. Hell I may even work on things if they fit in my lap. Well its nice to dream about such things!
