He really is a great guy and thank you very much. There was only one metal arm rest / cyl. cover in the car when I got it and it was a mess so I had a set made locally. My welder friend said he made them but I don't think so, he's good but they came out way above his pay grade, I'm sure he farmed them out because the price doubled. Before I sent them to SMS I drilled the holes for the courtesy lights but forgot to drill holes for the stainless strips. SMS covered them for me so I drilled the holes and mounted the strips before I took them to the upholsterer.
Which brings me to getting in touch with John Fowlie to see if he would like to have the old rusty sample that mine were made from. But then he may have some decent samples.
Dick.

Correction: HAIRS.

Closer and Closer, It shouldn't be long now, maybe two weeks at most. The tip mechanism is adjusted, tacking strips all in, cylinders and motor hooked up and filled with oil. Man, it really operates smoothly. The top well supplied by Gary Goers is installed and fits perfectly. The top came in so it will be installed next, then the front seat will be done then the door and side panels will be installed and DA,DAAAAAAAAAA. It's finished?? I'm going to drive it a bit for fine turning because Yvonne and I are going to Mississippi to attend http://www.cruisinthecoast.com on October 9,10 & 11 then a Koch family reunion in Slidell, La. October 12 & 13, then on to Nawlins, La. to visit Yvonne's brother and his family. Finally, Finally getting to do what I've always wanted to do and that's take a nice extended trip in one of my old cars. Then I can scratch that off my bucket list, well maybe not, there are other trips we would like to take.

Hey, just like fusion energy - always ten years away :P

Kidding aside, it's looking be-yoot-tee-ful, Dick.

I thought that was one Big A** rear convert window on your convert... I also like the SF rear interior convertible courtesy lights too! They look good on on a Belvedere convert. People comment on them at shows I go to.

Very nice detailed restoration project. It took me days to read most, but not all of this thread.
Very nice quality work.
