The car had been meticulously restored by a mechanic as a gift to his elderly father in 1989 who had purchased one like it off a showroom floor in 1959. The car was so beautiful that the elderly gentleman was afraid to drive it! The father passed away in 2004 and the family could not bare to look at it since it reminded them of their endeared father. A family friend sold it to me at auction and reported the history to me via email.
