Re: Chryslers at Carlisle 2022
The only other '59 Plymouths at the show were those belonging to Earl Hess - the crowd-pleasing custom Sport Fury, and the gorgeous Sport Fury convertible.

Re: Chryslers at Carlisle 2022
Matthew left for Carlisle on Wednesday, and I went solo on Saturday, the first time ever in Faulkner. I needn't have worried - he ran like a champ the whole way.

Re: Chryslers at Carlisle 2022
With Matthew's arrival, work began in earnest on the installation of the SMS door panels I had recently received - along with a pair of ash trays I had acquired from eBay.

Chryslers at Carlisle 2022
Martha, my '54 Plymouth Plaza Suburban, sits in the driveway to my garage where Faulkner is kept. I had Martha's radiator recored, and stripped much of the engine compartment for some modest efforts at detailing; but Martha was inoperable as a result. Re: Drive belt wobble
I don't like the fact the alternators on a large arm that I think might even have some give when you really tighten the belt. Mike, that could be the problem right there. At certain engine speeds, that extended arm could vibrate at its “natural frequency” and exhibit the fan belt motion you are obs...

Re: Drive belt wobble
Sure, Dick - Mike, here's a vid of Dick's 318 running. You'll note that there isn't any play in his fan belt. Check the tightness of the belt, and failing that, confirm that the alternator isn't hanging up, as Mark suggested by removing the belt and checking the free play.
