Don writes, "As a young man in the '50's, the first new car I owned was a white 1958 Plymouth Belvedere. [That's Don on the right, with a friend, in 1961.] I remember this car was a high maintenance car... Transmission had to be repaired twice, the engine twice, even the upholstery had to be replaced on the seats. All this added up to more than I could afford at the time so she was traded off 5 years later in 1963. Something about that car always stuck with me and some years later, in the 80's, I started looking to purchase another '58 Belvedere. Being a consultant in the Oil and Gas Industry I was out in the rural areas of the western Canadian provinces, and I was forever scouting small towns, abandoned old farm yards, wherever, for this car; to no avail. Probably just as well because had I found one, I was not interested in restoring one, as I had neither the time or resources."
