Doug writes, "This is a rare 1959 DeSoto Diplomat Deluxe, 2dr Sports Coupe, 5 liter [318] petrol engine, 3 speed push button automatic transmission, red & white exterior and red & white interior (vinyl). This car was imported from Newark Delaware USA for the 1959 Earls Court Motor Show and was then sold on from the Dodge Bros at Kew Gardens. The car features right hand drive ( not converted). These cars are what are known as Splodges, it has a Desoto front clip a Plymouth Fury rear end and a 58 Dodge dash with the 5 dials. This car has featured on TV and is in a film called Stormy Monday.

I brought this car 2001, and spent 2 years restoring it as it had been off the road since 1998. It is used at weekends and for going to shows, it draws a lot of interest and is believed to be the only one in the UK."
