Re: HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Happy New Year to All. Am locked into the bitter cold of the North East. Definitely not "Top Down" weather!

Leaking Top Cylinder

Noticed a puddle of oil under the passenger side top cylinder upon the new carpet job. So after tightening hose connection and a long wait and see approach, put in new cylinder and hose set from Hydro Electric and am ready for drop top cruising! It appears leak was at the cylinder base.

Re: Fuel tank sending units off

I dropped the new tank today and found one of Van's wonderful sending units replete with the 115-13 ohm range. Guess I'll try to live with it . and keep my eyes out for a correct one. Does anyone know where to purchase the right one??

Re: Fuel tank sending units off

I ran out of gas this past summer with a quarter tank. I am going to make sure the float actually bottoms out on the tank bottom. Hopefully the gauge will read empty at that point. If not I'll go the "try to remember" route.

Re: Marks winter of "59"

I had what may have been a similar problem with a Chevy I was restoring. The w. strip was too thick. I used a very sharp pair of upholstery scissors to shave about 3/8" off the back and re glued it after doing an appraisal. Worked out in my case. Good luck.

Re: Dead in the Water

The Plym lives again. All the clutch plates decided to shed their decades old material at once and cover the pickup screen. Marc my tranny man worked his magic and all is well. I never really did much to the torque flight originally, so can't complain about the old girl now. This may motivate me to ...
