Nice chunk, the unit is known as a sure grip, and the unit is also known as a power lock, with clutches. these are desirable but cause some concern with a 59 axle system because the sure grip units used slightly shorter axles. Long blocks In a Plymouth? WOW I thought they were Chrysler, De Soto and large trucks or industrial only. These are really great engines.
Also FYI, you could add a in cooling line transmission filter. these can filter what the screens can't.

YES, FLUID WILL LEAK OUT. But not really a big deal, use shop towels to keep the DOT3 off the finish. be quick and you may not have to bleed the system. If some fluid did splash on your paint. Just wipe it down with a wet cloth. and also dry the area.

The fan clutch should only make noise on fire up and during high temp. operation. highway speed should be able to force enough air through everything needing heat removal. the fan should be idling and almost silent.

Just wondering... If you have a cooling fan clutch system? The factory installed these on A/C engines. Sometimes they make some really unusual noises when they are failing.

Try disconnecting the vacuum advance line from the distributor pot, plug the line. test drive if the problem continues it could be a carbon problem. That's the ticket, just what the doctor ordered.Great picture!These were optional on all A Bodies... not just Dusters. there is also a side brace to help stabilize the whole thing that attaches at a right angle at the master cylinder bolts to the fender well.
