It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

I rented the tape last night. Or, tapes I should say... Sheesh! Is this sucker long!! Well, I guess I'll watch it, pick out some good segments with '59's and capture them to video. Does anyone have a favorite scene they want to see?

Coming soon, to a webcast near you!!
:P

couldn't find a notch

I looked for a notch yesterday, but couldn't find one... Maybe it does pop out. Maybe I have to break it, in order to find out the right way... It just seems so odd to me. The manual was very explicit up to that point, and just says "disengage nylon roller from center run channel". They mi...

Delco electric window motor, coupling and drive cable

MopPar P/N 1810 682. My (frozen) motor is stamped 504435, but I think that's a Delco number.

Also, the rubber coupling is chewed to heck -- It's one piece with the drive cable, MoPar P/N 1810 641.

Getting rear window out of SF hardtop: It's a real "pan

I thought I'd start disassembling today, to prepare for the installation of weatherstripping -- gotta take the back apart anyway, the driver's side rear window motor is frozen. (More about that later.) So I very carefully follow the instructions on page 49 of the service supplement: remove front run...

That's it, Matthew! The piece above the windows, running from the visor to the interior light, all the way back. The piece between the window and the headliner.

Driver's side interior upper chrome garnish molding

You know, the one that runs from the back all the way to the front, above the windows? Mine is rusty as heck. I understand that some of these are painted -- I'm looking for the chrome one.

Thanks!
Dan

P.S. -- how come this forum is so quiet?!!

John -- thanks for the reply. It wasn't until your post, and a check of the parts manual -- that I realized the '59 318 still used a canister type. The filter on the car when I got it was the sealed replacement unit (what to call it?), and that's what replaced it the first time. I no longer have the...

Exotica mechanicals

There's a local by the name of Frank Todd -- (856) 881-6935 -- who does quite a business catering to the needs of area folk for mechanicals. Brake linings (drums and transmission), hubs, etc. If he doesn't have it stored in his barn, he can usually get it. The guy who used to have Faulker removed th...

I do not know how to, or if it is indeed legal to, list parts on this site and Ebay at the same time, so Ebay was my choice. And it is proving to be difficult...I am getting folks trying to end-run ebay entirely... I chose Ebay because I wish to get top dollar for these parts, and i have no basis f...

Going to meet the Sterlings!

I've got a radiology conference in Vancouver to attend towards the end of May. Since that's a hop, skip and a jump from Boise, I'll be flying out a day early to meet the Sterlings, Faulkner's original owners (known to them as the "P"). I'll take pix and post them here... (Roger, the "...
