Get it started with A screw driver by prying and then slowly pulling it but it will curl and may not be useable to put back on. Mark

that is what i was afraid of. Was using a wide pry bar but was dinging it and it is deforming. You cant get the windshield surround off unless the drip rail comes off. Many thanks, Pat.

I use the bottle opener end of an old "Church Key". Wrap some electrical tape around that end, and the catch that lifts the bottle cap up, will hook the bottom edge of the molding and lift it up. Just continue to do this the length of the molding, and soon it will be off, and undamaged.

well, i tried it and i can see where it would work but it just bent the key. it is stuck in there with some old grey rubber mastic. may try to cut it with a utility knife tomorrow or maybe heat it up. you would think after 60 years it would just flake off but noooo>

Hmm... That's surprising to me, Pat. Can you send a pic?

I have used the emergency brake adjusting tool and a heavy paint stick, with no damage. Rick

They were discontinued about 35 to 40 years ago. I see them on ebay, craigs list I have used them on 59 Plymouths, Vans, motorhomes, cab over Dodge and Hino trucks. even on old tip toe matic and Gyro torque emergency brakes..... Rick Postscript there are 16 on ebay now. make lower offer.

Tool in action, curved parts require addition of paint stirring stick for extra trim protection.
