removal of brake booster assembly
removal of brake booster assembly
Ed Ober took Black Beauty for a spin the other day, and discovered he was without any brakes! He hobbled home with the emergency brake, and discovered that the bellows on the brake booster had split. Fortunately he has an entire NOS assembly, and intends to replace it. He disassembled the one in the car, removing all the bolts, but on first pass couldn't see how to remove the plate from the firewall. I've never done it myself, so I couldn't advise - but I'm guessing the rod has to be disconnected from the brake pedal under the dash?
I know Matthew has done this a time or two! What's the trick? I see mention of it on the forum, but haven't found any pix (yet). Can someone point me to where you show how to disassemble? And, if you don't accidentally dump the contents of the master brake cylinder - is it possible to do this operation without having to bleed the brakes?

Re: removal of brake booster assembly
There are 4 nuts holding the unit from the inside.
If you undo those 4 you'll take the whole unit. Dissambling is not needed
