Nice Car! Thats a lot of Canadian Coin Eh? It will be interesting what it does sell for if that info would ever filter out.

What does everyone think it should go for.... 15 -18K US? Current exchange rate is $1 American to $1.023 Canadian, almost dollar for dollar.

I think the owner should have taken the $27K offer....

John Q,

I feel he shouldve taken it too, but Fawcetts is a well known restorer and dealer of classic cars in the Toronto area, you'll get a nice car from them, but guaranteed it wont come cheap, i know a guy who bought a nice 65 Mustang rag from them, Texas car, like new and paid almost 35 grand for it, and when i heard he'd paid that, right away i asked, where did he buy it, Fawcetts??

Bob, I guess some people don't do reseach enough when looking for a classic car. They have tons of cash and it is burning hole in their pocket.

I have a neighbor who bought a 71 Cuda from a guy (also here in Arvada) that was a Barrett Jackson car, The first Colorado guy paid thru the nose for a cosmetic queen for the tune of $70K, my neighbor bought it from him for $52K and now he is trying to sell it for $45K and will be lucky to get $35K for it in this economy.

Trickle down theory of value....Buy High ...sell even lower.

horror stories, to be sure.
There is a story to read of gullible people, over at FL list...people who dropped off their collectible cars AND gave tens of thousands of dollars UP FRONT to get a restoration on their cars.
This disaater unfolded in Minnesota, in a scheme concocted by a father and son partnership, formerly scheming in Florida.

To update this story, i happened to meet this guy again last night who tried to buy this car last year, and he offered them the same money as he did last year, and again, they turned him down!
